RTOs that survive a real Monday morning
Fintech continuity plans often list recovery times in tidy tables: payments in two hours, customer support in four, back-office in a day. Reviewers ask a simpler question — what evidence shows you can hit those numbers when the primary site or vendor is unavailable?
A useful check is to walk one critical process end to end under the assumption that your primary path is gone. Note which people must be reachable, which systems must be up, and which vendors must answer. If any link depends on an unnamed deputy or an untested failover, the RTO is aspirational.
Business continuity audits start there: claims, owners, rehearsal records — then technology. Numbers without owners are decoration.
